Lifeline is a government program that offers qualified people a discount on their monthly local telephone or broadband bill. The service is available with Franklin Electric Plant Board.

Lifeline is a program created to help eligible low-income households maintain access to essential voice and broadband services. Qualified customers may receive a monthly discount on eligible services.

In Kentucky, the combined federal and state Lifeline benefit provides discounts of up to $12.75 per month for phone service when purchased with broadband service, or up to $9.25 per month for broadband-only service.

Lifeline customers who subscribe to telephone services also receive additional benefits, including free toll blocking, unlimited local calling, and access to their preferred toll calling plan.
